We can even make you up a flask of tea and a sandwich to go!

It is almost impossible to have “nothing to do” while staying at Mallaig Backpackers.

Mallaig has many amenities including Swimming Pool, Marine World, Heritage Centre and Library.

Visitors to the area can enjoy a variety of boat trips including Whale Watching, and access to Knoydart peninsula, one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Scotland. Here you’ll find wilderness, wildlife, challenging climbs and exhilarating adventures.

Close to Mallaig there are beautiful beaches at Morar, Camusdarrach, made famous in the film Local Hero, and many more to visit.

Glenfinnan is home to the Bonnie Prince Charlie monument and the history associated with Scotland’s Prince..and of course Glenfinnan Viaduct is the most famous part of the “Harry Potter” railway.

The ferry to the Isle of Skye travels daily, this is also a trip worth taking to enjoy the dramatic scenery and plentiful wildlife that the island has to offer, maybe some shopping in the island capital of Portree.

These are just a few examples, there are many more attractions to enjoy in the area.

For further information of the locality please click here to visit “Road to the Isles”.

We jumped on the Ferry over to Skye for the day and what an amazing day we had. We discovered Portree and did a bit of shopping before returning to Mallaig for supper.
